We have a wood salvage croquet pole Vintage item.  It measures about 15" in length.  It has multiple colored lines on the post with the bottom shaped to a spike.  It is about 7/8" across and the top circle.  This has a vintage patina showing some wear and discolorations in teh wood finish as shown in my photo.
