We have a Wood Handle Vintage Item.  I "think" this was a pot handle which was detachable....not positive.  The shaped handle is wood with a metal flat on the end.  It measures about 4 3/4" in L and the metal piece (which is attached with a screw) measures about 1 3/4" x 1 1/8".  It shows some light wear with the metal having a hint of rust/tarnish.
