I have a Victorian metal buckle.  It measures about 2 1/4" in length x 2 7/8" in width.  It is a black metal with ornate detail.  It has 1 3/4" bars to allow the belt to feed through.  The patent number is on the back #12 15 08 (I believe this is the date),.  The front of the buckle is in very nice condition.  The back has a very small amount of tarnish, very light surface rust on one corner.  The paint finish on the front is a bit worn where it overlaps when fastened as well.   I would consider this in nice condition overall.
